Abstract: Abstract: A New History of Chinese Literature (Revised and Enlarged) edited by Mr. Zhang Peiheng and Mr. Luo Yuming, taking in the historical view from modern humanist trends and the achievements of modern psychological analysis, texture criticism and reception aesthetics, and by way of the combination of micro demonstration with macroconclusion, pays an attention to the interpretation of the classic works, and blends the survey of the literary history into the inspection of humanist spirit experiences, thus making the writing of the literary history both the serious reading of the aesthetic forms in spirit and history, and the active intervention of the present spirit and aesthetic discourse. In view of all these, the book embodies a study style of seeking truth and a spirit of attaching reality. It is instructive and enlightening for both promoting the modernization of the subject construction of the literary history and enhancing the ideological level of research for literary histories.
