Abstract:
Based on the classification schemes of capitalism by Karl Marx and Mandel, Jamason came up with the postmodern concept of hyperspace while offering a spatial critique of late capitalism. He analyzed the spatial dimensions of architecture, culture, paintings, and films, and constructed the aesthetic of cognitive mapping as a way to salvage late capitalism. Jamason’s theory contributes partially to the “spatial turn” in the wider social theorybuilding.
