国外汽车消费社会学研究述评

Review of Sociological Research on Automobile Consumption in Foreign Countries

摘要: 汽车深深地改变了人们的日常生活。在国外,汽车消费社会学作为一个新的研究领域正引起广泛的注意。本文较为系统地梳理了国外近年来汽车研究的相关文献,并从汽车的文化逻辑、汽车的符号批判、汽车与城市空间、汽车与日常生活实践以及公共交通和私人交通等五个方面回顾了布迪厄、法兰克福学派、巴特、布希亚、列斐伏尔、雅各布斯、北村隆一、厄里、费舍斯通、米勒,以及其他一些后现代理论家对汽车的相关阐述。最后,本文就汽车消费社会学研究的未来趋势及其对国内研究的启发提出了一些看法。

Abstract: As a metaphor of modernity, automobiles have profoundly changed our everyday life; however, sociology has generally neglected them in its past studies. As a new research field, sociology of auto-consumption has recently attracted extensive attention in foreign countries. In this paper, autoresearch literature is classified systematically into five parts: cultural logics of cars, symbolic critique of cars, cars and urban space, cars and everydaylife practice, and public transportation and private transportation. The paper also reviews the discussions on automobiles by Bourdieu, the Frankfurt school, Barthes, Baudrillard, Lefebvre, Jacobs, Kitamula (北村隆一), Urry, Featherstone, Miller, and other postmodern theorists. Lastly, this paper presents some opinions about the future of the sociological research on autoconsumption and discusses its implications to our studies in China.
